Aldo & Friends: Phenology, Biology, and Saving the World 

With keynote speakers Dr. Stanley Temple and Douglas Ladd.  
Dr. Temple is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin and a Senior Fellow of the Aldo Leopold Foundation. His presentation is entitled "Aldo Leopold, Phenology and Climate Change."
Douglas Ladd is Conservation Biologist for The Nature Conservancy of Missouri. His three decades of managing natural areas has given him an enlightened perspective on the critical issues facing contemporary conservation. His presentation is entitled "Confronting the Darkness: Organismal Biology and Saving the World."

Also speaking are: 

  • Cheryl Coons, Forest Botanist at Hoosier National Forest, who will discuss the history and management of its areas of special geologic, archeologic and biologic significance.
  • David Gorden, ASLA, landscape architect with Mark M. Holeman, Inc. who will discuss creating a native landscape in an "un-natural" setting.
  • Michael Homoya, Botanist and Plant Ecologist for the Indiana Division of Nature Preserves and current INPAWS president, who will be hosting a fun, yet challenging trivia competition on all things natural in Indiana.
